Does my business qualify to be listed on Bossy?

To be listed on Bossy, your business must be located in Chicago or in a suburb of Chicago. Your business must also either (A) be 60% or more owned by women and/or non-binary people or (B) all owner-operators of the business are women and/or non-binary people (e.g. if there are male owners they are in an investor role and are not involved in the operation of the business). If you are unsure if your business qualifies, please email sam@bossychicago.com.

How do I activate my business listing?

After signing up for Bossy, you will get an email with a link to verify your email address. Once you have verified your email address, your business listing will be active on the directory and discoverable to potential customers on Bossy.

How do I see my business listing on the website?

After logging in to the member dashboard, press the welcome button in the top right corner and press "View Listing".

My business information is not showing up on my listing, how do I fix this?

Your business information is likely not being saved properly. As you are filling out your business information, you must press save after filling out each tab before moving onto the next tab. E.g. after filling out the fields under the “Contact Details” tab, scroll to the bottom and press “Save and Continue” before moving on to the next tab.

How can I make sure potential customers find my listing on Bossy?

To be sure customers can discover your business listing, choose a category that best represents your business under the “Listing Details” tab and then press “Save & Continue” at the bottom of the page. Your business will be shown to customers who are searching for the categories you choose on this tab.

To be sure your business displays in our search results under the correct location, on the “Contact Details” tab enter your business address in the field directly above the map and press enter. Wait for the location on the map to update, ensure that it matches the address listed below the map, and scroll to the bottom and press “Save & Continue”.

The map on my profile is displaying the incorrect location, how do I change this?

After logging in to the member dashboard, navigate to the “Contact Details” tab. Enter your business address in the field directly above the map and press enter. Wait for the location on the map to update, ensure that it matches the address listed below the map, and scroll to the bottom and press “Save & Continue”. Your listing will now display the correct address.

I don’t have a physical location, how do I list my location on Bossy?

If you don’t have a physical location, you can simply list your location as your city (e.g. Chicago, Oak Park, Burnham) to show potential customers where you are based without giving away your personal address.
